Easter Sunday

The Easter bunny stopped by our house! He left some pretty cool new things! Of course the basketball hoop is quite the favorite toy in our house right now!!

We took Nate out back for his very first Easter Egg Hunt. It was a little confusing at first but he was pretty quick to figure out he had to quickly put them in his basket! It was good practice for the next hunt he had at Auntie TD's and Uncle Joe's! Here he is playing ball with his cousins Pat, Joe and Jack! It was a lot of fun playing with the big boys!!!

Exploratorium

We took Nate to the Exploratorium for the first time. He had a blast. Here are some pictures...
Learning how a doorbell works! Pressing buttons is right up his alley!

Watching the sand. He was actually more interested in the ball he saw downstairs!

Playing with fire! Our future pyromaniac!!

Nate loved the xylophone! This and the jukebox room were fast favorites!

Finally he got to see the ball! He was so worn out though by the time we got here!

Baking Cake!!

Yummy!!!

Helping Mommy!!!

He loves helping in the kitchen. Every evening he goes to his stool and starts crying "help". He loves to play with the "Arer" and "bubbles". We took these pictures to show him when he is a teenager how desperately he had to help when he was just a year and a half!!!

Crescent City Crab Races!

After 42 years the Crab Races come to a close!

Or so read the headlines of the local newspaper in Crescent City!

We had been looking forward to going to this for 3 years but were never able to make it. We called 3 times this year to make sure it was going to be on! So we made the 400 mile drive north. When we arrived at our hotel we asked what time the races started. He had no idea! The next morning we overheard a man at breakfast saying something about the races. Jim got a copy of the paper he was reading! Needless to say we were disappointed but we made the most of our trip. Here are a few pictures!

Walking to the lighthouse

Hanging out in the hotel room....

Paul Bunyon and the trees of mystery

Nate has always wanted to be the big boy. He prefers to walk rather than be in his stroller. During our walk on the trees of mystery he saw another boy running, Nate decided he had to run as well and there was no need to hold mommy's hand anymore! Big boys don't hold hands! It was a struggle and he fell a couple of times!

Walking on an Indian Reservation...

Playing bows and arrows!!!

We stopped at this little shop...

Chicken Little

Chicken Little was Nate's favorite little buddy. One weekend, he went missing. We searched every where but he never showed up. Nate missed him something terrible. So we bid on one on ebay. Nate saw me watching the auction and leaned into the screen to give him a kiss. Then he started crying when he couldn't have him. It took for ever for the seller to actually mail Chicken but Nate was so happy when he showed up on our doorstep!

Catching Up

It's been awhile since I posted some pictures. We have been busy! Here are some pictures from our weekend up at the River in January.
This is Nate walking on the beach in Jenner.

The River otters chilling on the beach in Jenner! Fortunately we didn't see Nibbles. We understand Nibbles thinks humans taste yummy!

This is just a little bit of the storm damage at the house at the River. This tree branch came down and landed right across the monkey bars on the play set. We're going to have to have a new bar made!
