TRAINS!!!!

So, I have been wanting to get Nate's train up off the floor! He loves playing with his train and can get lost in it for hours. So today we went to Home Depot and bought a sheet of melamine and set it on top of the current coffe table. Jim made it so it is removable. We set up Nate's train while he was sleeping. We brought him downstairs and I think he went into overload. He got mad at us for trying to use the remotes for the engines. I think we spent about 2 hours down there today playing. It's definitely a hit with him. And it cost us a total of $49.00!!

Nate funny

I decided I am also going to use this blog to share funny Nate anecdotes. He's really starting to communicate better and I haven't been great about keeping his baby book up to date. This way I have something to look back to when I do get around to updating his book!

This morning I was telling him we needed to get ready for work and to go to Nana and Pa's house. He then proceeds to tell me "I go shopping." So I had to ask - what are you going to buy when you go shopping to which he proudly announces "train!" :)

He is officially hooked on Thomas the Tank engine. I was looking at the blog earlier and I was showing him the pictures from 2007 and more specifically our trip to Las Vegas and our visit to the FAO Schwartz store. He leaned so far into the computer to check out the train table. He wanted to put his Thomas engine on the table!! It's going to be fun when we take him to FAO Schwartz again!! :)

River pictures this past weekend

We had a fairly quiet weekend this weekend. We played a little bit on the swings before heading out to the pool for lunch and swimming. He loves the swing and it was hard getting him out!

I just thought this was a great picture!!
After dinner we gave him some ice cream. He enjoyed every bite!!

But I think this smile just says it all!!! :)

More River pictures (August 9th -10th)

We brought Grandma and Papa up to the River for the picnic but they were going to stay for the week. Saturday was busy with the picnic but Sunday we headed to the pool for some fun!!

Sitting in his Mickey chair! Although he calls it Minnie??!!??

This was a very much needed time out. He cried and cried because I wouldn't let him have any more juice. I put him in his pack n play to calm down with his milk. I caught him drinking it after all that!!!
Playing with his trains on the couch. He was asked not to play with them on the coffee table. That resulted in a time out on Saturday!! :) He finally did listen but he still tried to play on the table all the while looking to see if I was paying attention. He was caught every time although he tried to be sly.

2nd Annual Guernewood Park Picnic

We joined Grandma and Papa again this year for the Guernewood Park neighborhood association picnic. It's a fun event held in Armstrong Woods in Guerneville. It's a great way for all the neighbors to meet one another. There are quite a few permanent residents. Nate had a lot of fun playing around the picnic area

Actually sitting still!!

Everyone was given a name tag when we came in. Nate refused to wear his. We put it on his back when he wasn't paying attention!!

We had hamburgers and salads for lunch. And then a brownie for dessert!!!

Then he decided it was cool to wear a name tag except he preferred to wear mommies!!! :)

Monster Zucchini

A few years ago I decided to start a vegetable garden. I haven't been very successful at it. This year I decided to try again. Jim challenged me to a bet. Well it wasn't a good bet on his end because what he said was if we actually eat from the garden this year, he will buy me "whatever" I want. So I said fine, I'll take a new coach bag.

The garden hasn't been as successful as I would have hoped but I've learned a few things - what works and what doesn't for San Francisco. But you can imagine my surprise when I went out and picked these zucchinis!!! We stuffed the biggest one for dinner. It was yummy!

Nate is demonstrating just how big this zucchini is!!!

So I think it's time to go shopping!!! ;0)

SOMA dude!!!

This is a new bike Hat that Jim's company had made. He preferred to wear it backwards but Jim wanted to get a picture with SOMA showing. It made for a challenging picture as you will see!!!

I had to throw this one in because I caught him sitting on the table in the bumbo chair reading. Exactly what he shouldn't be doing!!!!!!!!!!!!
